What is the role of Sedgwick in handling my claim?

Sedgwick has been contracted by the University of California as our Third Party Administrator (TPA) to manage the system-wide Workers’ Compensation program.  This contractual arrangement assures that the UC Workers’ Compensation program is supervised on a claim made basis in accordance with California statute.  In addition, because of the confidential nature of medical information that may result from an injury claim, the third party arrangement provides for separation of such information from the employer. Sedgwick is the official agency of record for medical information not directly associated with the specific injury.
