March Wellness Challenge

Thank you to all who took part in March's month-long Resilience Challenge! The winners were drawn out of a list of names of everyone who completed at least 20 mindful practices in the Wise@Work App. The winners are Jamie Siegel, Laura Anderson, and Taylor Nagel. Congratulations!

The Faculty & Staff Wellness Program is excited to announce that UCSC is taking part in a month-long Resilience Challenge together with organizations across the globe!

This March, all UCSC faculty and staff will have access to the Wise@Work mindfulness app, which is full of short, work-focused practices to help you find some calm and balance, and build resilience after such a long year.

What does this mean?

Regular mindfulness practice has proven to lower stress, reduce burnout, increase creativity, and build resilience - in addition to improving your personal health and wellbeing. The Resilience Challenge represents an opportunity to have a bit of fun as a team while becoming stronger for the year ahead!

How do I take part in the Challenge?

Simply download the Wise@Work App, create an account using your work email, and use it to practice mindfulness for a few minutes a day. Record at least 20 practices in March and you'll be entered into a raffle for two Fitbits donated by Kaiser and free subscriptions to the Wise@Work App!

Here are some of the ways you can enjoy Wise@Work during the challenge:

  • Dive Right In! Each day, practice with the recommended Wise@Work Daily session, or choose one that matches your workplace Situation or Mood. You can even dive deeper into a Learning Series on the "Learn" tab.
  • Custom Meditations: Prefer silent or unguided meditations? Click the "Situation" tab, scroll to the bottom, and select "Unguided Practices".

Live Events

During March there will also be a series of weekly webinars from top names in workplace mindfulness. Sign up for any of the sessions here!

How to Join:

  1. Download the Wise@Work App from the App Store or Google Play
  2. Create an account using your work email
  3. Watch for a pop-up on your app to officially join the Challenge

The challenge begins March 1st, but feel free to explore the Wise@Work App in the meantime!
