Campus Orientation Programs

UCSC Welcome Week is filled with important academic activities and social events designed to help all new students transition to campus life, build a strong connection with the campus, and get the most out of their UC Santa Cruz experience.


Undergraduate Colleges

Each college is a vibrant living/learning community supported by faculty and staff who provide academic support, organize student activities, and sponsor events that enhance the intellectual and social life of the campus.

Events for entire campus community

Includes alumni weekend, theater, competitions, art exhibits, dances, etc. .

ODEI

Advances the University’s teaching, research and service mission and commitment to excellence by working collaboratively with others throughout the institution to promote a campus climate that values diversity, equity and inclusion, and is free of bias and harassment."


Athletics & Recreation

Diverse offerings in classes, workshops, outdoor adventure trips, intramural sports leagues, tournaments, clubs, drop-in activities, and recreational facilities.

Student Organization, Advising & Resources (SOAR)

At SOAR, students can choose from more than 150 active student organizations. SOAR’s professional and experienced staff offers mentorship, leadership training, organizational development advising, and event management services to all students.


Student Volunteer Center

A student-run organization dedicated to enhancing student involvement in the local community.


Women's Center

Provides space, staff, and resources to encourage women’s involvement in all aspects of university life and to establish and deepen connections with the Santa Cruz community and beyond.


Grad Student Commons

Provides a place for graduate students to have meetings, quiet study, and informal gatherings.


Services for Transfer and Re-Entry Students (STARS)

Gives support to transfer, re-entry, and veteran students through community programs and activities.


Staff Human Resources

Provides programs to build a strong and healthy university community.


The COVE

A space where students can learn about recovery, hang out, and participate in fun and supportive activities.


First Generation Initiative

Offers support for the first-generation student population at UCSC by raising awareness, providing resources, and conducting research.
